Cymraeg Campus at Ysgol Penyffordd
At Ysgol Penyfford, we have a Criw Cymraeg which includes children from Years 1 - 6. The Criw meet every other Wednesday to discuss the new Patrwm y Pythefnos (Phrase of the Fortnight), Ditectif Cudd (Secret Ditective) and other initiatives being worked on.
In 2023, Ysgol Penyffordd were awarded with the Efydd (Bronze) Award and in July 2025, we were awarded the Arian (Silver) Award!

Arian!

Since being rewarded with the Efydd Award in 2023, the Criw Cymraeg continued to work hard to maintain the standards of the Efydd award and then began working towards Arian.
The Criw Cymraeg worked extremely hard during this school year to ensure all the targets were met. The Criw really enjoyed their role as a member of the Criw Cymraeg and enjoyed promoting the language in various ways as well as constantly thinking of new ideas. In June 2025, the Year 6 Criw took the Assessors on a learning walk around school as well as leading an assembly, then held a discussion with the rest of the Criw Cymraeg. A few weeks later, we got the wonderful news that we had been awarded with the Arian award! Da iawn to our wonderful Criw Cymraeg! The Criw Cymraeg yn Blywddyn 6 attended an awards ceremony to collect our award. We even got a surprise performance off Olly the Guitarist! Bendigedig!

As a reward, Mrs Littler a Mrs Burdsall took the all Criw Cymraeg to the local park for an afternoon with an ice cream to thank them for all of their hard work.
They really enjoyed their treat :)

Exciting News!

The Criw Cymraeg have been busy working on a big project, transforming this shed into our Caban Cymraeg! The Caban Cymraeg will be used at lunchtimes for children to take part in Cymraeg activities and games. This will be led by Blwyddyn 5 a 6 and the winners of the Ditectiff Cudd will be able to visit the Caban Everything in the Caban Cymraeg was suggested and made by the whole Criw, da iawn Criw!
