Today we have been making pumpkin soup. We enjoyed eating it with the bread that we made yesterday at Tescos. Yum yum!
What a fantastic last day. Our Pirate Party was a huge success and it was wonderful to see the children dressed up in their pirate costumes. All children had the opportunity to play pirate games, take part in a treasure hunt and complete a barefoot trail. We had a lovely pirate lunch and found gold coins in our cakes! Thank you for sending your children in with their costumes - even though it was really hot they looked so good that it felt like we were on a pirate ship!
Enjoy the half term. See you on Monday 5th June.
This past half term has been jam-packed full of fun and activities. Year 2 have worked so hard and taken part in National Tests. They really made us proud and tackled every test in a mature and sensible way.
Last week we visited Chirk Castle and took part in workshops about servants, food, games and even went into the scary dungeons! The children's behaviour was exceptional and they really showed off their knowledge about castles. Da iawn!
Looking forward, our topic this term is Pirates! We will be having a pirate party on the last day of term and the children will be invited to dress up and play pirate games.
We are also practicing for Sport's Day, preparing our class assemblies and getting ready to visit the juniors in preparation for our big move to year 3!
We have had such a busy half term! Today was the icing on the cake as we celebrated an early World Book Day combined with our Readathon. The children looked amazing and had a fun filled Friday. Please remember to send in your sponsorship money when we return to school. Please also try to make your Eisteddfod Craft and send it in on Monday 27th February.
Class 2G have had a fantastic week of work this week. We have been learning about the poem The Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll and have written our own nonsense poem in groups. We are going to perform these to the class on Monday. We also had our parental maths workshop which was very well attended. A huge thank you to everyone who came along. The children thoroughly enjoyed working with you.
We are currently learning our times tables and need to practice them everyday. Please help your child as much as you can - they need to be able to count in 4's this week in addition to knowing the times tables off by heart. You Tube have some fantastic songs to help your child to learn their tables, for example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBmSshEDVnQ
Finally, many children have taken home lines to learn for our Christmas concert. Please help them to learn these lines. More information will follow during the next couple of weeks about arrangements for the concert.
Have a lovely weekend
We had an exciting time today working with our parents/grandparents. First we listened to the book One is a snail ten is a crab.
